The 16th Citizens Energy Forum, co-organised by the European Commission and the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority, will engage local stakeholders such as NGOs, cities, communities, youth, businesses, Energy Regulators, and national policy makers. The forum aims to empower citizens for a just energy transition through discussions on good practices, policy developments, and citizen empowerment actions. The event will be web streamed with active participation via Sli.do polls, stakeholder testimonies, and breakout sessions. It will focus on the role of trusted intermediaries like public authorities and consumer organisations in helping citizens benefit from the European Green Deal. Special emphasis will be on experiences from Central and Eastern European countries and coal-intensive regions. Registration will open shortly, with additional events including a thematic workshop on energy communities on 4 December and a Regulatory Roundtable on energy policy for consumers on 6 December.
