Mission Ocean and Waters Forum and Related Events

The European Commission is organizing a week-long series of events to discuss and shape future EU policies and initiatives on the ocean and waters. The events will focus on the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters, the European Ocean Pact, and the European Water Resilience Strategy. The forum will bring together various stakeholders, including youth, research, innovation, academia, regions, cities, ports, islands, and the BlueInvest and European Blue Parks community, to showcase collective action for the health of the ocean and waters and discuss Europe’s blue future.

Event Highlights

• Monday, 3 March: The event opens with Young Voices for the Ocean, featuring dialogues between young ocean advocates and the Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans. Various panels will focus on youth participation in policy design.
• Tuesday, 4 March: The third Annual Forum of the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters will review progress, mobilize stakeholders, and discuss strategic steps for reaching 2030 targets.
• Wednesday, 5 March: Fisheries and Ocean Dialogues will foster collaborative discussions among stakeholders from fisheries, aquaculture, maritime, and blue economy sectors. Blue Invest Day will showcase innovation and investment in the Blue Economy.
• Thursday, 6 March: Discussions will focus on innovative solutions for restoring rivers, lakes, and coastal waters. The 4th EU Blue Parks community workshop will collaborate on marine protection and restoration.
• Friday, 7 March: The focus will be on marine data and observation, with sessions on ocean observation, data, research, and citizen science.

The events will take place at the Charlemagne Conference Centre and Sparks in Brussels, Belgium, and will be conducted in English.
