This document outlines the European Commission's strategy for the agri-food sector, aiming to secure farmers' support following the 2024 protests.

Among Brussels' upcoming moves is a simplification of the current CAP 2023-2027, while the contours of how the Common Agricultural Policy might change in the MFF 2028-2034 are already taking shape.

Built in light of the Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture launched by President Ursula von der Leyen in January 2024, the EU Vision for Agriculture and Food serves as a roadmap for upcoming initiatives and legislative proposals in the agri-food sector.

Firstly, the document presented by Agriculture Commissioner Christophe Hansen, alongside Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms, Raffaele Fitto, confirms that Brussels is working on a package of simplification proposals for the current CAP 2023-2027, to be presented by June 2025. Simultaneously, the Vision anticipates the Commission's guidelines for the legislative proposal on the Common Agricultural Policy 2028-2034, expected in July.
