The Government of Uganda represented by the National Information Technology Authority of Uganda (NITA-U) has received funding from the World Bank for the implementation of missing links on the national data transmission backbone infrastructure under the regional communication infrastructure program.

In this context, the Government intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

NITA-U intends to implement the above mentioned project over a period of 18 months upon successful contracting of a suitable contractor. It also wants the project to be supervised for its entire duration by an independent supervisor, who will be required to oversee, on behalf of the Government of Uganda, the implementation of the project and ensure that the contractor fulfills all contractual obligations in atimely and cost efficient manner.
