The European Innovation Council launches new calls for innovative start-ups and SMEs

Credits: pexels.comThanks to a series of new calls of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, EIC Transition and EIC Pathfinder – under the European Innovation Council's Work Programme 2023 – more than 1.6 billion euros will be allocated to fund the most disruptive ideas submitted by European innovators.

The European Innovation Council (EIC) is an integral part of Open Innovation, the third pillar of Horizon Europe, whose aim is to strengthen innovation ecosystems in Europe by involving public and private stakeholders.

The resources available to the EIC for the seven-year period 2021-2027 amount to 10 billion euros, of which about 3 billion euros will be allocated to the EIC fund; 1.5 billion euros have already been allocated under the 2021 work programme, plus more than 1.7 billion euros under the 2022 work programme, plus 1.6 billion euros under the 2023 work programme.
