Science-for-Policy Dialogue: Resilient Health Systems for an Ageing EU Population
This event is a workshop among scientific experts and regional, national, and EU policymakers to discuss the impact of the ageing EU population on health systems and long-term care. It aims to enhance understanding among stakeholders regarding demography, ageing, and care provision.
Objective
The workshop will address challenges the EU faces in meeting the growing demand for health services due to its ageing population. It will facilitate stakeholder engagement and knowledge dissemination on healthcare workforce shortages, skills opportunities, and sustainable care provision in an ageing society.

- 10:45-11:00 Presentation on SANDEM Health workforce projections by Fabrizio Natale.
- 11:00-11:45 Panel discussion on health workforce planning with speakers Gaetan Lafortune, Jiri Branka, Eszter Kovacs, and Lisa Baldini.
- 11:45-12:45 Presentations on health of older Europeans, education, work, and health in older age, positive demography, and care sustainability by Agnieszka Chłoń-Domińczak, Arnstein Aassve, Daniele Vignoli, and Cecilia Tomassini.
