19/03/2025
On 19 March 2025, a webinar will be held to discuss the MOSE Project, an advanced flood protection system in Venice, focusing on its design, impact, and potential application in Asia and the Pacific to combat rising climate risks. Scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Manila time, this hybrid event will feature keynote speaker Simone Venturini, who will provide a detailed presentation on how the MOSE Project functions and its effectiveness in protecting Venice from rising sea levels and extreme weather events. The session aims to assess the feasibility of implementing MOSE technology in coastal cities facing similar challenges in Asia and the Pacific, fostering discussions on climate-resilient engineering solutions and adaptation strategies. The webinar is organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Italian Trade Agency, the Embassy of Italy in Manila, and Technital. It is open to ADB staff, consultants, and invited external participants, with free registration available. Participants will gain insights into the MOSE Project's contributions to flood mitigation and engage in meaningful discussions on climate adaptation.
