The European Parliament plenary has approved the use of the fast-track procedure for the adoption of the legislative proposal on the mid-term review of the 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy. The Council Defends Cohesion Principles. Clarity Needed on National Plans

The green light from the chamber comes just after the publication of an opinion by the EU Court of Auditors, which highlights the risks associated with reallocating EU funds to new political priorities, starting with defense.

The plenary confirms the vote of the Regional Development Committee, which on May 5 approved, with 22 votes in favor, 14 against, and 4 abstentions, the use of the fast-track procedure for legislative proposals relating to the mid-term review of Cohesion Policy Programs in favor of new political priorities: competitiveness, defense, affordable housing, water resilience, and energy transition.
