The session will feature Elizabeth Bechdol, Deputy Director General of FAO, who will present solutions for achieving agrifood systems transformation, emphasizing the importance of development finance, social protection, natural capital investment, and technological innovations to bolster food security and resilience. The discussions will also address the situation in Afghanistan and the role of investments in natural capital, such as land and water, in ensuring long-term food security. By the end of the webinar, participants are expected to grasp the significance of development finance and social protection in enhancing food security, understand the impacts of climate change on agriculture, and explore practical solutions for strengthening agrifood systems and promoting sustainable development in the region. The event is open to ADB staff, consultants, and external participants, with online participation available at no cost.
