Adopting Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies to Transform Agrifood Systems

On 25 March 2025, a hybrid event will take place at the PRC Resident Mission in Manila, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (GMT +8), focusing on how AI and digital innovations can improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability within the agricultural value chain. The event will emphasize the significance of precision agriculture, smart supply chains, and data-driven decision-making in optimizing resource utilization, minimizing waste, and enhancing food security. Additionally, it will present innovative digital financing models and policy frameworks aimed at accelerating the adoption of digital solutions, especially for smallholder farmers and agribusinesses. By convening experts, policymakers, financial institutions, and technology providers, the seminar intends to illustrate the transformative impact of technology on agrifood systems, particularly in developing member countries. The objectives include showcasing AI and digital innovations that boost agricultural productivity and sustainability, highlighting supportive digital financing and policy frameworks, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to enhance technology-driven efficiencies in agrifood systems. Target participants will include government officials from various ministries, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, academia, multilateral organizations, and funding partners. Keynote speaker Paul Winters from the University of Notre Dame will be joined by other notable speakers from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and related sectors. Registration for the event can be done via Zoom, and online participation is free.
