Public Funding for Permanent Carbon Removal in the EU

On 28 January 2025, the Directorate-General for Climate Action of the European Commission will host a 1-day event focusing on public funding for permanent carbon removal. The event aims to explore and enhance the financing landscape for climate action, emphasizing instruments supporting permanent carbon removal.

Participants will gain insights into existing European financing instruments such as the Innovation Fund, the European Innovation Council, and Horizon Europe. The event will include presentations, discussions, and debates on ideas to boost funding mechanisms for permanent carbon removal solutions.

The event will foster dialogue among stakeholders and provide actionable insights to shape more effective financial support for climate goals. Participants can attend both onsite at the Albert Borschette Conference Centre in Brussels and online via live streaming.
