JRC Book Launch: Loneliness in Europe - Determinants, Risks and Interventions
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is launching a new book titled "Loneliness in Europe – Determinants, Risks and Interventions". This event will explore the societal and individual impacts of loneliness, presenting the latest cross-national research findings.
The event will be held on Friday, 7 February 2025, from 14:30 to 18:30 CET, at the Collaborative Space (Building 17), JRC Ispra, Italy, and online via Webex. No registration is required.
Key topics include the societal problem of loneliness, childhood experiences, health, social media use, societal preferences, political attitudes, and policy interventions to counteract loneliness.
Moderator: Laura Cassio, Senior Expert at the European Commission, JRC.
Speakers include Michaela Saisana, Caterina Mauri, Francesco Berlingieri, Matija Kovacic, Béatrice d’Hombres, Chiara Gentile, Elena Stepanova, and Minna Nurminen.
The event will conclude with closing remarks by Sylke Schnepf and a cocktail session.
