Presentation of the Macroeconomic Globalisation Indicators
The JRC and Eurostat are presenting the Macroeconomic Globalisation Indicators, a new dataset designed to analyze and understand the EU's involvement in global value chains. This event is particularly relevant for policymakers, researchers, and statisticians working in macroeconomics and global trade relations.
The event will be held on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, from 11:00 to 12:00 CET, and will be available via livestream. Key speakers include Mariana Kotzeva, Sabine Weyand, Bernard Magenhann, and Sanjiv Mahajan.
The presentation will cover how to map, analyze, and align EU strategic autonomy needs with single market opportunities. The FIGARO tables, produced by Eurostat and JRC, will be discussed, providing insights into the world economy by breaking down national GDPs, offering trade data, and including employment, production, consumption, and environmental figures.
This event will introduce 12 Macroeconomic Globalisation indicators, helping Member States understand their participation in global value chains within the EU and with key global trading partners like China and the United States.
