30 Years of Swedish as an EU Language
This Translating Europe Workshop celebrates the 30th anniversary of Swedish as an official EU language. The event will begin with an introductory speech by Juhani Lönnroth, former Director-General of the European Commission Directorate-General for Translation. Swedish-speaking translators and interpreters from the European Commission, the Council, and the European Parliament will participate in a panel discussion to share their experiences over the past 30 years. Additionally, Swedish professor Björn Melander from the University of Uppsala will present on 'EU Swedish'. The event will be conducted entirely in Swedish.
