Fourth Roundtable of the ADBI-ADB Asian Climate Finance Dialogue
FROM
11/03/2025
The Fourth Roundtable, scheduled for 11-12 March 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, will build on previous discussions about corporate climate disclosure and transition finance by focusing on establishing greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets, both net and gross, as well as metrics and issues related to carbon credits. This event is part of the ADBI-ADB Asian Climate Finance Dialogue, launched in November 2023, which aims to promote policy actions by governments, financial regulators, and central banks to enhance understanding of climate-related information disclosure. This understanding is essential for scaling up climate finance while ensuring financial sustainability. Participants will explore the importance of risk-adjusted returns, risk mitigation strategies, and transition plans to support the region's journey towards achieving net-zero emissions. Improved disclosure standards and greater data availability from corporations and financial institutions are vital for building financial stability against climate risks. The objectives of the Roundtable include raising awareness about GHG emission reduction targets, gathering data on current practices and challenges from regulators to enhance corporate climate disclosure, and stimulating policy dialogue on these topics while sharing international best practices. Target participants will include policymakers and regulators from ADB member economies, as well as experts from ADB, ADBI, and other international organizations. The expected outcomes are increased information-sharing on the adoption of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Standards, enhanced understanding of carbon credits policy options, and strengthened policy dialogue regarding good practices and areas for improvement. Registration is by invitation or prior arrangement with ADBI.
