Following the launch of the InvestAI initiative, the European Union continues to make significant efforts in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Within the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, a new call has been activated to strengthen international cooperation on large-scale Generative AI models for scientific applications.
InvestAI, the EU invests 200 billion in artificial intelligence
This initiative is part of a broader framework of actions that the EU is implementing to strengthen European leadership for reliable Artificial Intelligence. One of these is the call for the creation and development of the first AI factories in Europe, which has already gathered the first seven proposals - including one from Italy - and will remain open until the end of 2025.
Specifically, the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched the new "International Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence" call to prepare Europe for the convergence between High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially in the development of large-scale Generative AI (GenAI) models for science.
