AI Factory Antennas: new EuroHPC JU call for proposals

Following the launch of the 'AI Content' action plan, the European Union is accelerating its efforts to achieve a leadership position in artificial intelligence compared to the USA and China. As part of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, a new call has been launched for the creation of Antennas to be connected to existing European AI Factories. European Commission Unveils Ambitious AI Continent Action Plan

The new call aims to strengthen the services offered by the first AI Factories in Europe, selected through a dedicated call that has already gathered the first thirteen proposals - including one from Italy - and will remain open until the end of 2025.

Specifically, the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched the new "AI Factory Antennas" call to establish antennas connected to the already existing AI Factories in Europe.

Overall, the EuroHPC JU call plays a crucial role in building a competitive European HPC-AI ecosystem, aligning EU-level efforts with those of individual member states, bridging gaps, and promoting international collaboration.

The specific objective of the new European call is to select entities capable of building antennas to connect to the existing AI Factories in Europe and, consequently, to the related optimized supercomputers.
