Photo by Jen from Pexels There is time until January to participate in the €10 million call promoted by EIT Urban Mobility, aimed at providing financial support to startups with solutions/products targeting urban mobility ecosystems, seeking to expand into a new sector and/or market.

The ultimate goal of the call is indeed to provide startups with support to bring their innovations, products, and services to market launch and scalability.

Thus, the activity of the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) dedicated to urban mobility of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) does not stop, the body funded by the third pillar of Horizon Europe aimed at supporting innovation by synergizing the business world, research, and education.

A mission that EIT Urban Mobility promotes not only through networking activities or specialized courses but also by publishing calls for grants aimed at companies and startups.

Promoted within the 2023-2025 Business Plan, this year's edition of the Financial Support to Startups Open Call by EIT falls within this branch of activities of EIT Urban Mobility.

The call indeed supports startups offering innovative solutions for urban mobility to create a more social and healthy urban environment, providing them with financial support to foster hiring, growth, product development, research and development, legal and marketing development of the company.

The call - which has a budget of €10 million - is open to pre-seed and seed stage startups with solutions/products falling within a rather wide range of technological maturity. The TRL (Technology Readiness Levels) admitted to the procedure range from 3 to 9.

As already mentioned, to be eligible, the startup should have the following characteristics:

  • develop new products/services/solutions targeting urban and suburban mobility ecosystems.
  • proceed with a significant improvement of an existing product/service/solution for expansion into a new industrial sector or a new geographical area.
