Description
The summit will bring together key European and international decision-makers, law enforcement authorities, multinational companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), consumer representatives, and other relevant players to discuss ways to improve protection and enforcement of IP rights in the EU and around the globe.
The summit will aim to:
- Address the pressing challenges of IP enforcement in the digital age, with a special focus on SMEs.
- Explore strategies to enhance IP rights enforcement in the EU and internationally, ensuring secure world trade flow and safeguarding public and consumer safety.
- Spotlight effective solutions and exemplary cooperation methods aimed at preserving the international innovative and creative landscape by countering both existing and emerging practices of IP crime.
Programme
Panel I: AI and Emerging Technologies for Enhanced IP Enforcement
This panel will explore how AI, cutting-edge technologies, and monitoring tools can enhance IP rights enforcement. It will focus on how the current legislative frameworks, as well as voluntary commitments, can ensure these solutions are used responsibly and transparently, balancing enforcement, innovation, and business interests.
Panel II: Securing the Physical Trade Flow of Goods
This panel will explore effective solutions to counterfeiting in the physical flow of goods, focusing on the role of blockchain, clean free trade zones, and intermediary cooperation. It will also address the enforcement challenges posed by international supply chains and best practices for securing trade channels from counterfeit goods.
Panel III: Overcoming Cross-Border Challenges in Global IP Enforcement, Including for SMEs
This panel will focus on effective solutions for enforcing IP rights across borders, emphasising dynamic legal tools and coordinated international efforts across jurisdictions. Panellists will explore how to best support SMEs in this context, including through measures to enhance the enforcement of IP rights.
