Conferences and summits: Atomic intelligence: at the intersection of nuclear research and AI
About the Event
Through a series of expert talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, we will aim at collectively identifying solutions to support European scientists in their use of AI. We will showcase European AI-powered innovations in nuclear and other fields, with applications in fusion energy, material science, or health. We will also discuss the opportunities and challenges of teaching and training scientists and workers in the AI era.
Why Attend in Person?
- Engage with Experts: This is a rare chance to interact directly with leading scientists and machine learning specialists from Europe and beyond. The event is structured to promote engaging group discussions and provide ample opportunities for personal interaction. Insights gained will contribute to broader discussions on accelerating the responsible adoption of AI in science across the EU.
- Discover Real-World Applications: Dive into case studies showcasing successful research projects, startups, and companies that are pioneering the use of AI to advance technology and drive innovation.
- Network at Our Cocktail Event: Connect with keynote speakers and fellow participants in a relaxed setting. Exchange best practices, build meaningful relationships, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
- Contribute to Crucial Conversations: Join thought leaders in discussions about the role of AI in nuclear science and technology, as well as its implications for other fields. Be a part of shaping the future.
Background
The event is part of a wider effort led by the Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG R&I) in support of the European Commission’s focus on accelerating the adoption of AI in scientific research in Europe.
Within DG R&I, the Euratom Research Unit has gathered intelligence on the use of AI in nuclear research in particular. Innovators and researchers who were interviewed in the exercise pointed out the need for increased collaboration and expertise sharing between nuclear and other areas to foster AI in EU science.
