4th EUSO Stakeholder Forum
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is organizing the 4th edition of the European Soil Observatory (EUSO) Stakeholder Forum. This annual event aims to engage with the soil community, including policy makers, scientists, local actors, civil society representatives, and citizens. The forum will be held online and consists of two parts:
- 14-15 October 2024: 2nd Young Soil Researchers Forum
- 21-23 October 2024: 4th EUSO Stakeholders Forum
The event will focus on topics such as the status and prospects of the Soil Monitoring Law, the launch of the report on the state of soils in Europe, global perspectives on soil health policies, the launch of the EUSO Working Group on nutrients, and soil literacy and soil sciences and arts.
Healthy soils are crucial for climate neutrality, biodiversity, and food security. Over 60% of EU soils face degradation, and the Soil Health Dashboard highlights these issues. The proposed Soil Monitoring Law aims to make soil health monitoring obligatory and provide sustainable management principles.
