The 16th Citizens’ Energy Forum is an annual event organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority. It serves as a platform for consumers, regulators, and industry to discuss consumer rights in the EU's energy market. This year's forum will focus on the Citizens Energy Package, aiming to increase citizen participation in the energy transition and strengthen the social dimension of the Energy Union. The event will be held on December 5, 2024, at the Budapest Congress Center in Hungary, and will be live-streamed for online engagement. A workshop by the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will also take place on December 4, 2024, focusing on energy communities. The forum will feature keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and multi-stakeholder breakout sessions, all conducted in English.
