16th Citizens’ Energy Forum
The Citizens’ Energy Forum is an annual event that serves as a platform for consumers, regulators, and industry to discuss consumer rights in the EU's energy market. Launched in 2008, the forum contributes to the Commission's work on energy and consumer policy. This year's forum will focus on the next Commission mandate following the European elections, aiming to enhance citizen participation in the energy transition and strengthen the social dimension of the Energy Union.
Organized by the Commission in collaboration with the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, the forum will gather stakeholders from NGOs, cities, energy communities, energy agencies, consumer associations, businesses, and citizens. The event will be live-streamed, allowing online audience engagement. The working language is English, and interpretation is not guaranteed.
Alongside the forum, the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will host a workshop on December 4, 2024, for local and regional authorities and other public actors to discuss energy communities.
The forum will take place on December 5, 2024, from 09:30 to 17:00 CET at the Budapest Congress Center in Hungary. The program includes keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and multi-stakeholder breakout sessions focused on empowering citizens for a just energy transition.
Registration ends on November 22, 2024, at 23:59 CET.
