On 14 March, the European Commission is organising the Translating Europe Workshop 'AI and machine translation for secondary education' in cooperation with the Drongo platform for multilingualism.

This inspiring meeting will focus on the impact of Generative AI and machine translation in secondary education. How do schools, teachers and students deal with it? When do you allow its use and when not? What do students and teachers need to know about it? (What) can we learn from it? How do others do it?

We will not only launch a debate this afternoon: we will also present a practical manual on (the use of) Generative AI and machine translation in secondary education (paper versions will be available on location) and there will be a focus on the language skills needed in the labour market of today and tomorrow. In addition, interactive break-out sessions will be organised to experiment with the new tools (on location only).

It is possible to attend this meeting both physically and online. The plenary programme can be followed online, the interactive break-out sessions can only be attended on location.

More information, the full programme and registration via Evenement - Drongo. Before you register, you first need to login/ register for free on the Drongo platform.

The workshop will be held in Dutch.

Webstreaming link will be sent to online participants after registration.
