The conference is an extension of the ADBI initiative aimed at enhancing cooperation among think tanks, governments, and international financing institutions to support a sustainable transition. It seeks to address the challenges faced by developing countries that are increasingly threatened by climate risks. The program will showcase practices and case studies from Bhutan, the Amazon, Thailand, and Indonesia, along with innovative programs developed by multilateral development banks (MDBs) and other organizations focused on ecosystem conservation and resilience building. By gathering leaders from global think tanks, international financing institutions, donors, and governments, the conference aims to promote knowledge sharing, technical transfer, and skill training to facilitate a transition to a more sustainable system. It emphasizes the importance of bridging initiatives across regions and sectors to accelerate climate action and sustainable development. Scheduled for March 20-21, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand, the conference builds on the momentum of global think tank collaboration and ADBI’s COP29 side events, fostering synergy to address the pressing challenges of sustainable transition. The objectives include instigating knowledge and skill sharing, urging collaboration among think tanks for climate initiatives, and enhancing the link between research and policy. Target participants include global think tank leaders, researchers, international financing institutions, government officials, and philanthropies. The expected outcomes are building trust among leaders, gaining a better understanding of the perspectives of climate-vulnerable countries, boosting collaboration among think tanks, and empowering their role in policy research and diplomacy. Registration is by invitation or prior arrangement with ADBI and The Rockefeller Foundation.
