
This new strategy, announced by the head of Brussels during the Paris summit 'Choose Europe for Science', aims to attract top international talents, including those leaving the United States, by offering them new concrete opportunities to carry out their research activities in Europe. From the three-year investment package to new grants, here are the main pillars of the 'Choose Europe Initiative'.
Investments in the 'Choose Europe' Initiative
Regarding incentives, von der Leyen announced a €500 million package for the 2025-2027 period, to "make Europe a hub of attraction for researchers" and thus help "support the brightest researchers and scientists from Europe and around the world".
On this occasion, the intention was also expressed to create a new seven-year 'super grant' under the European Research Council with the aim of "offering a long-term perspective to the best".
