A guide to the new Green Deal Industrial Plan

European Commission - Copyright: Christophe LicoppeThe European Commission presented yesterday what is supposed to be the European response to the debated U.S. Inflation Reduction Act: the new Green Deal Industrial Plan, an ambitious instrument that aims at enhancing the competitiveness of Europe's net-zero industry and at supporting the fast transition to climate neutrality.

The College of Commissioners officially approved the communication “A Green Deal Industrial Plan for the Net-Zero Age”, a document that outlines EU’s new priorities and guidelines to reach its climate targets, through some relevant novelties but also relying on the famous instruments that have already been implemented like RFF and REPowerEU, InvestEU, the Innovation Fund and of course the European Green Deal. The Plan will then be discussed during the Special European Council on the next 9 and 10 of February.
