Until January 15, 2025, it's possible to participate in the 2024 call of the Horizon Europe FutureFoodS partnership for funding research and development projects on the theme “Transforming Food Systems - reshaping food system interactions, fostering food innovations and empowering sustainable food choices.”
The FutureFoodS partnership is among the eight co-funded partnerships launched by the European Commission under Cluster 6 of Horizon Europe and aims to contribute to the green and digital transitions in the agrifood sector through financial support for transnational research and development projects. Launched on June 19, the new partnership involves 84 members from 29 countries and aims to mobilize up to 525 million euros over the next 7-10 years, with approximately 175 million euros allocated by the European Union.
In its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), the FutureFoodS partnership has identified four thematic areas where developing better knowledge, advanced know-how, and more scalable and innovative solutions can significantly help meet food system transformations: how we eat; how we process and distribute food; how we connect; how we govern food systems. These areas will be addressed through various activities, including living labs, a European food system observatory, knowledge-sharing events, and open calls for R&I activities.
The first of these calls - titled "Transforming Food Systems - reshaping food system interactions, fostering food innovations and empowering sustainable food choices" - has just been launched and will remain open for the pre-proposal submission phase until January 15, 2025.
