The new call for proposals of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) dedicated to the transport sector has been published. €2.5 billion is available for projects focused on the construction and modernization of transport infrastructure. Applications can be submitted until January 21.
The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has launched the new 2024 calls under the CEF for transport, making available €2.5 billion to build and modernize transport infrastructure in the EU and CEF-associated countries, namely Ukraine and Moldova.
The projects to be funded will contribute to expanding and modernizing the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), making mobility more sustainable, smart, interoperable, and resilient. In this way, CEF Transport will continue to contribute to the EU's goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, as established in the Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy.
How CEF Transport Works
CEF Transport is a financial instrument aimed at implementing European transport infrastructure policy by funding large strategic investments in the sector. For the period 2021-2027, the total resources available for the program amount to €25.8 billion, of which €11.
