EIT Health launches Open Innovation Programme and selects promoters

Photo by National Cancer Institute on UnsplashAs proof of the relevance of open innovation in the life sciences sector, the Knowledge and Innovation Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) dedicated to health has launched a new program aimed at connecting the demand for innovation (private buyers of innovation and/or healthcare providers such as hospitals) with the supply (innovators such as startups or SMEs). 

The process starts with the selection of the "demand" side, followed by the joint definition of the open innovation challenge that will be launched in the coming months.

As in other sectors, in the case of health, open innovation is a mechanism that allows for the acceleration of the innovation process in the sector, increasing efficiency and reducing the costs of adopting new solutions, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders involved: innovators (SMEs and startups), private companies buying innovation, or healthcare providers such as hospitals.
