The launch of two of the EIC's three main instruments (the Accelerator call and the Pathfinder open call) is in line with the provisions of the new EIC work program launched before Christmas, which also initiates several procedural innovations aimed at improving the effectiveness of the EIC, such as lump sums.
An EIC Transition call will open instead on April 17th, 2024.
The 2024 EIC Accelerator call
The measure launched on January 3rd, which can count on the largest budget, is the "EIC Accelerator 2024" call, with an endowment of 675 million euros.
These resources will support startups, spinouts, SMEs, and, in some cases, even MidCaps (in case they need a quick boost in TRL 9 activities) that can develop and scale high-impact breakthrough innovations, able to create new markets or revolutionize existing ones. Individuals or legal entities willing to start an SME or mid-cap company in Europe may also apply for the call.
