New EIC Pathfinder call set to open in 2024

January 4th, 2024, marks the opening of the new Pathfinder call launched by the European Innovation Council (EIC). It can count on an overall 136 million euros budget, which will back the development of new, disruptive technologies.

The EIC's Pathfinder program aims to foster innovative and high-risk scientific collaborations aimed at advancing radical technologies beyond established boundaries. It welcomes visionary scientists, researchers, and entities from various backgrounds and supports projects that involve consortia from multiple countries.

EIC Pathfinder grants of up to 3 to 4 million euros aid in the early-stage development of pioneering technologies, focusing on Technology Readiness Levels 1-3, with opportunities for additional funding for testing research outputs.

The call's goals in detail

The expected outcome of the project proposals involves demonstrating the feasibility of the core concepts behind the envisioned future technology, validating its scientific and technological foundation. The project should result in top-level scientific publications available in open access

Furthermore, it is encouraged to involve and empower key individuals, such as early-career researchers or promising high-tech SMEs, fostering a mindset focused on impactful research and development.
