The project aligns with the first operational strategy of ADB's Strategy 2030, which aims to achieving better health for all by improving the quality and coverage of government healthcare services and supporting to improve access to quality healthcare services. ADB has a long experience in the health sector of Uzbekistan. The Country Partnership Strategy CPS 2019-2023, in line with the government's new health strategy, states that it will support ' reducing maternal and child mortality, the ruralurban disparities in the quality of health care provision, and will assist in the development of an e-health system, aiming at integrating different levels of health care and increasing its efficiency . In general, the project aligns with SDG 3 on UHC, and in particular SDG 3.1.1 on reducing MMR and SDG 3.2.2 on reducing NMR, and SDG 5 on universal access to reproductive health. The project will promote SDG 3's clear focus on equity, including equity-focused monitoring and evaluation, to help ensure that targets are being met and that no one is being left behind, and to contribute toward achieving SDG 5.
