165 mln euros on a new Research Fund for Coal and Steel calls
Two new Big Tickets calls open as part of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) programme until 4 May 2023. A budget of 165 mln euros has been allocated on proposals concerning European Green Deal and Just Transition in order to boost large projects at high technology readiness levels.
They shall support the necessary technology-to-market transition and transformation to reach clean steelmaking processes, in order to have a concrete relevance to achieving the European Green Deal goals and the climate neutrality. In line with the Just Transition, pilots and demonstrators will also help the coal sector towards a sustainable transition during the phase out of coal, including activities addressing reskilling, upskilling and training for workers.
