A second workshop on the roadmap towards phasing out animal testing for chemical safety assessments will take place on Friday 25 October 2024. To register, you need to first create an EU Login account. The deadline to register is 11 October. There is no entrance fee for this event.

This workshop follows the first event held in December 2023, which was initiated by the Communication from the Commission on the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) “Save cruelty-free cosmetics – Commit to a Europe without animal testing”. The Commission committed to developing a roadmap towards ultimately phasing out animal testing for chemical safety assessments, outlining milestones and specific actions for a transition towards animal-free chemical legislation.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss elements of the roadmap with Member States and stakeholders, focusing on developing, validating, and implementing non-animal methods across chemical legislation.
