Description
This online workshop will focus on sustainable feed issues, aiming to align metrics and methodologies for calculating the environmental impact of feed. Discussions will explore innovative animal nutrition and sustainable feed solutions to transition US and EU livestock production systems towards climate-neutral, low environmental impact value chains.
Key outcomes may include stakeholder mapping of initiatives for calculating the environmental footprint of feed production, which accounts for up to 80% of GHG emissions linked to livestock and aquaculture production systems, and establishing closer Trans-Atlantic frameworks.
Background
The US and EU feed sectors jointly lead in developing innovative feed production and animal nutrition solutions. This includes sustainable feed additives and processing technologies to enhance feed resource efficiencies and reduce environmental impacts.
