Asian Development Outlook April 2025 Launch

Developing Asia's growth remains robust, yet it faces significant risks, including heightened trade uncertainty and escalating geopolitical tensions. The region's economic outlook is supported by strong domestic demand and resilient exports, particularly in the electronics sector. However, challenges such as trade policy uncertainty, increased US trade tariffs, geopolitical conflicts, and instability in the property market of the People's Republic of China (PRC) could hinder growth prospects. These critical issues will be explored in detail during the upcoming webinar on 9 April 2025, which aims to provide insights into the drivers of economic growth and inflation in the region, identify key risks affecting the outlook, and discuss potential policy responses to these ongoing challenges. The webinar will feature a panel of experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), including John Beirne, Shu Tia, and other notable economists, who will share their expertise and analysis. Participants are encouraged to register for this online event, which will take place from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Manila time (GMT+8). Background material for the discussion will be based on the Asian Development Outlook (ADO) April 2025.
