Workshop on HPLC Phytoplankton Pigments Intercomparisons (HIP)

The 5th edition of the HPLC Phytoplankton Pigments Intercomparisons (HIP) Workshop will be held on 3-4 December 2024 in a hybrid format at JRC Ispra, Italy. This event focuses on the determination of Total Chlorophyll and other relevant phytoplankton pigments in natural waters.

Since 2009, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) has organized intercomparison exercises on HPLC Phytoplankton Pigments analysis to support the validation of satellite data products. The workshop aims to present and discuss the results of the last HPLC phytoplankton pigment analysis (HIP-8) and to plan future intercomparison activities. It provides an opportunity to create and expand a network of researchers focusing on marine pigments analysis to support satellite data and bio-optical algorithm validation.

Researchers interested in marine pigments analysis are encouraged to attend. Requests for participation should be submitted to Elisabetta Canuti by 15 November 2024.
