InfoPoint conference: Transparency and traceability in garment and footwear value chains - Part 2

As part of the European Youth week 2024 event organised by the European Commission from 12-19 April 2024, young people in the EU are invited to take part in activities from all over Europe and beyond. This year's focus is on democracy and the European elections, encouraging young people to voice their vision for the EU. The main objectives of the 2024 edition are: During this event, young people will have the opportunity to: Rural young people will join the representatives of the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development for a workshop around young people in rural areas and agriculture to: Follow the discussions on social networks with EUYouthWeek.     The Transport Research Arena TRA is the largest Transport Research and Innovation Conference in Europe and around 4.000 participants are expected in Dublin for TRA2024, based on the high attendance at previous conferences close to 3.000 participants attended the conference organised in Lisbon, Portugal in November 2022. TRA is organised every two years.TRA gathers stakeholders from all transport networks road, rail, waterborne and aviation, bringing notably research and industry communities closer to each other and providing a forum where they can exchange views and ideas with the policy makers on the challenges and opportunities the industry faces.The event is open to researchers, academics, students and young researchers, engineers; transport infrastructure managers and owners; traffic operation managers, transport operators; SMEs and start-ups; industry, vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, ship builders; public authorities, governmental bodies; non-governmental organisations; other transport stakeholders and decision makers.The European Commission is co-organiser of the TRA2024 conference, together with the Irish host.TRA is a truly multimodal transport conference covering all transport modes road, rail, waterborne, air transport and it is directly supported by several European Technology Platforms ERTRAC, ERRAC, WATERBORNE TP, ALICE, ECTP, ACARE and associations like ETRA European Transport Research Alliance and CEDR Conference of European Road Directors. Programme  Speakers  Themes  In 2024, Transport Research Arena TRA will take place in Dublin, Ireland from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 April. The theme for TRA 2024 is "Transport Transitions: Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility". TRA is co-organised by the European Commission and is the foremost European transport event that covers all transport modes and all aspects of mobility. It is the largest European research and technology conference on transport and mobility. The event offers a great venue for researchers, policymakers and industry representatives to get together and contribute to the discussion on how research and innovation can reshape the transport and mobility system. The conference provides a unique opportunity to hear about mobility trends in different parts of Europe, learn from achievements in the industry as well as share best practices of policies and deployments. Programme The EU Road Safety Conference will take place as a side event to TRA on 16 April. This event will provide a forum for sharing views and experiences on the just transition process to stakeholders from national, local and regional authorities as well as economic and social partners, the wider society and representatives from the European Commission; among them Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, and the Director-General for Regional and Urban Policy, Themis Christophidou.
