Conferences and summits: Youth Policy dialogue with Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis
The EU is serious about giving young people a seat at the table and making sure their voices are heard when it comes to building the future of Europe. Through the Youth Policy Dialogues, the EU is bringing young Europeans into the conversation, ensuring policies reflect what matters most to the next generation.
On March 4, 2025, in Brussels, Valdis Dombrovskis, the EU's Commissioner for Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplification, will host his first Youth Policy Dialogue. This event will focus on the economic priorities for the new European Commission mandate, giving young people a chance to share their expectations and views on a range of important issues that impact Europe’s future.
Seventeen young Europeans from different countries will be part of this exciting dialogue. They’ll get the chance to ask questions, share ideas, and actively discuss key topics with Commissioner Dombrovskis. Here are just a few of the big questions that will be up for debate:
- How can the EU remain competitive on the global stage?
- What’s the plan for strengthening Europe’s position in global trade while becoming less dependent on other markets?
- How can we finance the investment needed to ensure the competitiveness of the EU economy?
- Can the Digital Euro speed up Europe's economic growth?
- What’s being done to tackle the productivity gap between EU countries?
- How can the EU ensure its workforce, especially young people, is equipped with the skills needed for the future job market?
And this is just the start! Over the next five years, regular youth dialogues will be organized to keep the momentum going and ensure young people continue to be part of EU decision-making.
