Roadmap for Phasing Out Animal Testing in Chemical Safety Assessments: Second Workshop

The European Commission is organizing a second workshop on the roadmap towards phasing out animal testing for chemical safety assessments. This event will take place on Friday, 25 October 2024, from 09:00 to 17:00 (CEST) in Brussels, Belgium. The workshop is a follow-up to the first event held in December 2023, following the Communication from the Commission on the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) titled “Save cruelty-free cosmetics – Commit to a Europe without animal testing.”

The roadmap aims to outline milestones and specific actions necessary for transitioning towards animal-free chemical legislation. The event will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss critical elements in developing, validating, and implementing non-animal methods across chemical legislation. The workshop will involve Member States and stakeholders, guided by the Commission Inter-service Steering Group and three specific working groups.

Registration is required to attend the conference, and the deadline to register is 11 October 2024. There is no entrance fee for this event.
