On 4 and 5 July 2023, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency CINEA is jointly organising with the Directorate-General Climate for Action DG CLIMA a two-day event to help applicants submit a successful application for the third small-scale call. To achieve this goal, CINEA is proposing a twofold approach:   On the morning of 4 July, an online event where CINEA, DG CLIMA and a couple of successful small-scale projects from previous calls will provide valuable tips on successfully preparing an application for the Innovation Fund. Participants will learn about the main challenges, most common mistakes and how to avoid them. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers QA using slido.  On the afternoon of 4 July and the full day of 5 July, CINEA and DG CLIMA will host online orientation sessions that will be webstreamed. Selected projects will have the occasion to present their project idea at a public event and ask questions to CINEA and DG CLIMA representatives. Project presenters are recommended to note the public nature of this event and refrain from disclosing any confidential information.  The event will be online webstreamed, the link to follow the event will be provided two days before the event to registered participants. Join the event to learn about the European Citizens' Initiative, its toolkit for schools  'EU Democracy in Action - Have Your Say with the European Citizens' Initiative' from one of the ECI Ambassadors or at the dedicated panel discussion organised during the festival. Frihamnsdagarna is an annual event in Gothenburg revolving around democracy, dialogue, change and sustainability.  At a stand at the event and a panel discussion, visitors will be able to discover more about the European Citizens' Initiative. Come meet the ECI Ambassador and have a chat about the ECI, ask questions and learn more about the 'EU Democracy in Action - Have Your Say with the European Citizens' Initiative' toolkit for schools. . This four-day workshop is designed to help teenagers 16 to 18 year olds discover the world of translation through exercises, hands-on workshops with feedback from tutors, and talks from translators working  in different fields. The workshop will form an integral part of the international conference Translation, Interpreting and Culture 3: Virality and Isolation in the Era of Deepening Divides, organized in Bratislava on 20-22 September 2023, which builds on the success of its previous editions in Nitra 2018 and Banska Bystrica 2021. TEW will be held on the first day of the conference, 20 September 2023. TIC 2023 is the third event in the series and it wishes to provide a platform for multi-disciplinary discussions about translation and interpreting in the rapidly changing global circumstances. The TEW in this edition of the conference will include two roundtable discussions. The first one will focus on the field of translator training, with an emphasis on specific skills required for PEMT and new forms of interaction between AI and human translator. The second roundtable will be dedicated to the provision of translation and accessibility services to Ukrainian citizens fleeing war, volunteer translations and accessibility work. Interpretation will be provided in: Slovak and English. ECI will have a stand at 'The Participation Festival' in Bologna, Italy, where visitors will be able to learn more about open initiatives and the 'EU Democracy in Action - Have Your Say with the European Citizens' Initiative' toolkit for schools. The festival targets young people who demand their role in building their future.  Visitors can network with civil society organizations, collective and community experiences, movements and mutual aid networks, aiming to create innovative responses to people's needs and desires. We have invited three practitioners who will talk about working in the fields of theatre captioning, live-subtitling and easy language and how language professionals can find their niche in these areas. This workshop will be an opportunity to share the cooperation experience between UNINT and the Italian Ministry of Justice aimed at introducing translation technologies in the Ministry's translation department and at advising on the creation of TMs and TBs in the perspective of NMT training in compliance with GDPR requirements. Skills for translators This workshop will be conducted in an interactive round-table format aimed at students, academics, practitioners, and LSPs. The objective is to give a comprehensive overview on current and future trends in translation, emphasizing both technological challenges and the increasing diversification of an ever-evolving profession. November 8 - 10, 2023, Brussels and online  This year's Translating Europe Forum - the 10th edition - will look into what it takes to achieve excellence in translation. Ranging from skills and training to quality management, and from technologies to promoting the language professions, discussions will put translators in the spotlight. We will also look back at how the profession has developed over the last 10 years - and what the Forum's role has been on this journey. Naturally a glimpse into the future will also be on the agenda.
