The event titled 'From the Danube source to Black Sea – Healthy Waters and healthy life' is organized by the European Commission and will take place on Tuesday, 15 October 2024, from 09:00 to 15:30 (EEST) at Burgas Free University in Bulgaria. The conference will focus on pollution from nutrients, chemicals, litter, and physical alteration of watersheds to the sea, featuring content from Mission Ocean & Waters projects, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe projects, and European Partnerships like Water4All and the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership.

The event will include high-level sessions and involve key actors from the Black Sea communities, including an Operational Network of Funders and existing networks in the Danube area, such as ICPDR and the BioEast initiative. A workshop on 'Nature-Based Solutions Implementation and Policy Recommendations for the Danube and Black Sea Region' will be held on the afternoon before the conference, on 14 October 2024, from 14:00 to 18:00 at the same venue.
