Workshop on EU Paris-aligned and EU Climate Transition Benchmarks

The European Commission is hosting a workshop to discuss the EU Paris-aligned and EU Climate Transition Benchmarks, which have been in application for four years. The event aims to evaluate the successes and shortcomings of these benchmarks in redirecting finance flows towards sustainable investments and aligning with the Paris Agreement objectives.

The workshop will bring together stakeholders such as benchmark administrators, asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, and academia. Discussions will focus on the role of these benchmarks in promoting sustainable investments, their impact outside the EU, and challenges in designing these indices.

The event will feature panels discussing the effectiveness of these benchmarks for investors and potential improvements to make them more attractive and usable. Key speakers include experts from various financial and investment organizations.
