Cooperation between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and five United Nations institutions has been further enhanced by an agreement that enables EIB to directly finance technical assistance or advisory support for joint initiatives in which UN partners help project promoters prepare and implement projects eligible for EIB financing.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) are the five UN institutions that will help the EIB get projects off the ground and deliver its support more quickly and effectively.
More specifically, UN institutions will cooperate with the EIB Global, which is the EIB Group’s specialised arm dedicated to increasing the impact of international partnerships and development finance.
