World Bank Doubles Commitment to Agribusiness

This announcement was made by World Bank President Ajay Banga during the Annual International Monetary Fund/World Bank Group meetings held in Washington.

Banga emphasized the necessity of this increase, stating, "We've examined the challenges from every angle—how to increase food production, boost productivity, and resolve issues around water scarcity, fertilizers, infrastructure, and financing." This comprehensive approach reflects the World Bank's recognition of the multifaceted challenges facing global agriculture today.
