In the context of the Duboko regional solid waste management project in Serbia, the Public Utilities Company “Regional sanitary landfill Duboko” was established in 2005 to take charge of the construction and operation of the regional landfill, with the municipalities of Cacak and Uzice as majority shareholders.
For the initial construction period a consultant was hired to support the company to supervise the works. The contract was extended up to the end of 2013, when the consultant ceased work. The company financed the support of the consultant throughout 2014 but since then the it has not benefitted from the expertise of an international firm
