
In addition to maintaining continuity with previous work programmes, the new Digital Europe 2025-2027 work programme addresses contemporary challenges related to technological sovereignty and security by enhancing the EU's critical digital capacities in key areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced digital skills.
Unlike other European funding programmes, Digital Europe is distinguished by its complex structure, which includes, in addition to the main work programme just adopted by the European Commission, two other strategic documents: the work programme for the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre and Network.

Comprising over 200 pages, the Digital Europe 2025-2027 work programme focuses on the dissemination and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) by businesses and public administrations, as well as on cloud computing, data, cybersecurity resilience, and digital skills.
