RESTORE: EU Funds Flexibility for Climate Disasters

The European Parliament plenary has approved RESTORE, the package of amendments to the European funds regulations presented in October by the Commission, which authorizes the use of part of the Cohesion Policy 2021-27 resources to respond to adverse climate events. 

RESTORE is accompanied by a similar measure for the agricultural sector, which also provides more flexibility on EAFRD funds within the CAP, also approved by the European Parliament.

RESTORE is a set of measures that was anticipated in September by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during her visit to Poland following the severe floods that hit the country, and later by the former Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira during the EU Regions Week.
