The European Commission has officially adopted the Erasmus+ 2025 work programme for implementing interventions in the fields of training, education, youth, and sport.
As with other European funding programmes, the Erasmus+ 2025 work programme is a strategic document of fundamental importance that clearly outlines the main information on upcoming calls, such as objectives, beneficiaries, eligible interventions, and the available budget.
The funds available for the Erasmus+ work programme for the next year amount to a total of over 4.9 billion euros. This allocation, significantly higher than the record budget recorded for 2024, will support a variety of initiatives ranging from innovation alliances to sports contributions.
To know all the details about funding opportunities, even before the calls are published, a thorough reading of the WP 2025 is recommended. This helps interested parties in planning investments, optimizing time and resources for drafting a successful project proposal.
European funds for education, youth, and sport: what does the Erasmus+ 2024 work programme fund?
The 2025 work programme has more than 4.9 billion euros available, distributed among the various sectors under the Erasmus+ programme: education and training (which receives 83% of the budget), youth (10.3%), and sport (1.9%).
The remaining resources are allocated to national agencies and support interventions.
For the deployment of European funds, two types of procedures are planned:
- indirect management: for actions implemented by National Agencies;
- direct management: through calls for grants, tenders, invitations for experts, and other EU-managed actions.
