It is estimated that by 2050, 70% of the world's population will reside in urban areas. This figure is particularly relevant for many sectors, but of particular interest for the construction industry, which is destined to make a radical change of perspective along the entire supply chain, from design to production.

This is well known by the European Commission, which in recent years has launched initiatives such as the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus to steer the sector towards greater environmental and social sustainability. Among the opportunities activated at EU level, there is also the new call for the EIC Pathfinder challenge 'Architecture, Engineering and Construction digitalisation for a novel triad of design, fabrication, and materials'
